AHIA E-News is the electronic newsletter for AHIA members,
offering up-to-date information on a variety of issues pertaining to the
healthcare internal audit industry and AHIA events. Please watch your inbox

As Chairman of the Board for AHIA, I would like to invite you to
our annual business meeting which will be held on Tuesday September 9,
2008 from 5:15pm - 6:00pm. It has been our practice to hold our annual
business meeting in conjunction with our annual conference which will be held
Sept 7-10 at the Omni Interlocken Resort in Denver, CO. Business meeting
attendees will be eligible to win either a free AHIA membership for the
coming year, or free registration for the 2009 Annual Conference in San
Diego. Hope to see you there,
The Audit Library campaign is in full swing. New submissions are
coming in and fresh updates have been added to the Audit Library! You may
view the newest additions to the library by selecting a subject button on the
library's main page, then sorting by year; the 2008 additions will all be
listed together. Part of AHIA's vision is to embody 'excellence through sharing'
and to be the healthcare auditors' first choice for education specific to the
industry. The Audit Library is one of our members' most-valued benefits, and
a vehicle through which members can share their expertise with one another.
Take some time to share with your colleagues by submitting documents to the Audit
Library. Don't get left behind on this exciting campaign! CASH PRIZES All new submissions will be scored by blind peer review, and
those submitters who receive the highest cumulative scores will be eligible
for cash prizes in increments of $100, $250 and $500!!! Points will be
assigned to each submission based on the following:
While this is an ongoing campaign, some of these cash prizes
will be presented at the Annual Conference. Be sure to send your submissions
in time to be eligible for this special recognition.

Chief Audit Executives: This year we are soliciting information from each organization's
CAE only. It is important that everyone respond to the survey
in order to get the valuable results that members are looking for.
Nominations are being solicited for the Board of Directors in
the Association of Healthcare Internal Auditors. The positions for this year

Newly elected Board members will take office in January, 2009. Qualifications - At the time of declaring
his or her candidacy, each candidate for voting Director shall have all the
following qualifications:
To nominate yourself, fill out the Board of Directors nominations
form, and send a 300 dpi photograph of yourself via email to: nominations@ahia.org by September

Registration
is open for the Southeast Regional Seminar held in Houston, TX on Monday,
October 13, 2008. Online registration closes on October 3, 2008. Details and hotel information can be found on the AHIA web
site.
